Virat vs ABD

I feel that these two batsmen have nothing in common apart from their records.

You have to understand that both these players serve different roles for their respective countries. virat is the typical no 3 batman. The first thing he does when he comes in is consolidate . He takes time to get used to the pitch, conditions and bowlers. No doubt he has the ability to find the odd boundaries here and there. He is also a very good reader of the situation and plays accordingly.

ABD on the other hand comes usually at 5 or 6.

He is a mass entertainer and his approach to batting is completely out of the world.

Irrespective of the situation and other factors, he looks to dictate the bowlers. In this context, dictate doesn't necessarily mean attack.

He plays his game in such a way that the bowlers cannot follow a fixed plan. He plays the game on his own terms and looks to outdo the bowlers in the mental game. He is a much more calmer, composed and consistent performer than virat.. Even after playing a decade of international cricket ,There has never been an occasion or a season in which he has gone out of form. But one has to consider that our virat comes under a lot of media pressure every time he comes out to bat. Even if goes 10 innings without a hundred, the topic is heavily debated in all the news channels(#indiawantstoknow).

Virat is the kind of batsman who will win you matches. He is a match winner. Let's make no fuss about that.

He is more or less a textbook copy player.

ABD on the other hand is a game changer. I say this because of the fact that stalwarts like amla and du plessis come on to bat way before our showman. Yet, it is ABD's quick fire knock that usually puts south Africa in a commanding position.

He is Mr.360 and if he has made up his mind to demolish the opposition bowling attack, there is nothing that can stop him.

Both ABD and virat belong to the modern category of athletic fielders.There is denying the fact that these two guys are among the fittest in the circuit (ABD is said to have run 100 metres in 9.8 seconds).

However, having said all this, I would like to credit ABD for having the x-factor of being a freak. Imagination of the only thing that limits his batting.

But let's admit it... Watching them bat together for RCB is an absolute feast for a cricket lover.
